The College of Southern Maryland Faculty Senate Executive Board has established a PayPal account for donations to assist John and Claire Lamiman. This was established with the assistance of John Lamiman’s stepson, David R. Helgeson, CFP®.   As you know, John was injured in an accident at their home in North Carolina in July, resulting in his paralysis.  He was transferred to a rehabilitation facility in Atlanta, Georgia.  We have recently received news that John is scheduled to return to his home in North Carolina within the next week.

Claire writes, ”This is a particularly intense time.  I'll get things together as best I can for John's homecoming on Tuesday, the 16th.  John's sister arrives Friday and will make the return trip on the Med-flight with John.”

Even though this is happy news, this move will bring new challenges for both John and Claire.  The Faculty Senate would like to take this opportunity to remind you about the fund that has been established to assist them with the many expenses that are not covered by insurance.

The “link” to the Pay Pal account is below that allows for donations to John’s account.

The way the link is set up, you go directly to the account, enter how much you want to donate, and THEN log in to PayPal. If you have a PayPal account, it is just one more click.

If you don't have an account, you enter the method of payment on the page and then submit, which will set up a PayPal account for you.

The Faculty Senate Executive Board would like to encourage you to consider this opportunity as an ongoing process where donations can be made over time as a way to support the Lamimans as they face the challenges ahead.  Even the smallest donation will be greatly appreciated.

“We are both stunned by the extra-insurance expenses and are urged by families with long-time experience to receive help when it is offered. So, with deep gratitude, we will set up a PayPal account.” ~Claire and John Lamiman
