Message from the President
The Maryland Mathematics
Association of Two-Year Colleges is part of a vibrant educational
community. Department leaders meet twice
a year with our 4-year partners to discuss state-wide issues. We actively participate in projects with the
Maryland State Department of Education to improve alignment in mathematics
education. MMATYC provides opportunities
for you to participate in state and national discussions and provides
professional development opportunities for both fulltime and adjunct faculty at
an affordable cost. Our annual membership
meeting is held each January in conjunction with the Association of Faculties
for the Advancement of Community College Teaching. In May 2008, we will be sponsoring a local conference
with a focused discussion on College Algebra. I hope many of you are able to attend these meetings.
