Tables

You can generate a table of values for an equation very quickly using the TABLE function.

Example: Generate a table of values for the equation y = 2500 + 0.05x.

Step 1: Press Y = , the left-most blue menu button directly below the screen.

Step 2: Enter the equation.  You can enter the numbers using the number pad (gray buttons), enter the variable using the X,T,O,n button (to the right of the green ALPHA button), and enter the operators using the blue buttons (to the right of the number pad).

Step 3: Press TBLSET (above WINDOW), the blue menu button directly below the screen, second from the left. Adjust the table settings.  Here are some suggestions:
  • TblStart: The first x value that will be generated in the table
  • ΔTbl: How the next x values will be generated.  For example, the x-values will be 0, 10, 20, 30 if you set ΔTbl = 10.
  • Indpnt: AUTO will generate the x-values automatically.  ASK will let you enter the x-values one at a time.
  • Depend: AUTO will generate the y-values automatically.  ASK will let you enter the y-values one at a time.

Step 4: press TABLE above GRAPH (the right-most blue menu button directly below the screen).  If you set ASK for TBLSET, see Step 5.

Step 5: To enter a value, enter the value in X=, then press ENTER.
