A convenient way to re-enter an answer just obtained in the calculator (especially if they are long and/or complicated) is using the previous answer capability of the calculator.
Say in a preceding entry, the answer obtained was a very complicated decimal number. For example, the log(17) = 1.230448921...If we wanted to use that answer in another application, we can have the calculator re-enter that answer automatically. Continuing with the example, let's square the result of log(17).
Step 1: Press the yellow 2nd key, then the ANS (in yellow above the (-) negative key). Note that ANS appears on the screen.
Step 2: Enter the karat ^ and exponent. In this example, the exponent would be 2
Step 3: Press ENTER. The answer will show up on the right side of the screen.
Note that the calculator will automatically bring up the previous answer ANS if you press another operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and the karat) immediately after obtaining the answer ANS in the previous step.
