Entering Data into Lists

The TI-83 Calculator can store data into lists. This is necessary for a number of functions, including Scatterplots and Linear Regression.
NOTE: This topics is the first part of a series of modules. After completing this module, continue with the series by going to the next topic entitled Linear Regression.
Example: Store the following data set into lists:
Step 1: Press STAT. This is the EDIT menu.
Step 2: Press ENTER. This is where the lists are entered.
NOTE: The lists in this example are empty. If that is not the case, you can either enter the data into other lists or clear the list beforehand. See the topic Clearing Lists for more information.
Step 3: Enter the x values into L1 by using the number keypad and pressing ENTER or the blue down arrow after each number entered.
Step 4: Press the blue right arrow to move the cursor into L2. Now enter the y values.
Step 5: To return to the Home Screen, press the yellow 2ND button, then QUIT (above MODE in yellow).
