Access

Go to http://www.noodletools.com.

Click on Current Users Sign In button at the bottom of the left column “NoodleBib.”

 

 

First-time users

1.       Click  Create Personal ID button. 

2.       Click the button for “an account linked to a school/library subscription.”

3.       Click Register.

4.       Enter college’s username:  csm student

5.       Enter college’s password:  english

6.       Click “I am a student or library patron.”

7.       Select and enter a username and password.  Enter the last four digits of your phone number and click Register.


All others

1.       Fill in personal ID and password boxes. 

2.       Then click the Sign In button.

 

 

Getting Started

 

Click  on the upper right side of the screen.

1.       Choose MLA Advanced or APA Advanced format for a new bibliography.  Your instructor will tell you which format to use.

2.       Give your list a name in the description box.

3.       Click Create List.

Or click an existing list from the onscreen options.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 




At this screen, click Select a citation type and make a selection.

Click Create Citation (see 2 above).

Read each screen NoodleBib displays about the source you are inputting and click your choices.

Click Next at the bottom of each screen.

Enter your bibliographic information into the boxes provided.  When done, click Generate Citation.

To add more citations, simply make more choices in the top bar (see 1 and 2 above).

 

Editing your bibliography

Use the buttons on the right side of the screen to edit, copy or delete items on your bibliography.

 

 

 

 

 

Using the sources in your essay

            Use the Parenthetical Reference link on the right side of the screen to see an example of an

in-text citation to the source.

 


 Adding your bibliography to your essay in MS Word

1.        In MS Word

a.       Open your essay.

b.      Click after the last word of the whole essay.

c.       Click insert  >> page break.

2.       In NoodleBib

a.       Click Save As Word Doc at the top of the screen.

b.      Scroll to the bottom of the screen under “Export and Print” and click the link.

c.       Click open when the file download box appears.

d.      Copy the bibliography from the NoodleTools window.

3.       Go back to Word and paste the bibliography onto the last page of your essay.

 

 

 

Logging off

Don’t forget to click Sign Out link at the top of the screen when you are finished using NoodleBib.  This will save your bibliography and protect your privacy.

 

Usage policy

Faculty and staff may distribute the username and password to all students via syllabi or handouts; however, please post online via password-protected media only.
