Student Success
Smarthinking:

Student accounts for the 2008 Fall semester have been updated. The same flyer from the fall works for the spring. Students should follow the same link used for the Fall:

Students are being asked to contact their instructor for the CSM password. Their user name is their first name + last name + birth date (mmddyy). This is all explained on the new link (see above) and in the flyer (see attached document). Please contact me for the password and make it available to your students.

If a student is unable to access Smarthinking, please have them contact me. I can verify their account information with them and walk them through the process if needed.

Ball Early Warning System Form
If you have students who are experiencing academic difficulty, please take the time to complete the Early Warning E-form below. This will be automatically submitted to the Success Center. Students will then be contacted and advised of appropriate options for improving their performance and or salvaging the semester.  You will be provided follow up details.

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions, concerns  or suggestions for how we can improve this process.  Thank you for the care you show our students and your assistance with the Early Warning System.

Sincerely,

Pat Schroeder, Director, Student Success Center,
Patsc@csmd.edu, Ext. 7611.

The Early Warning System is designed to encourage students to improve poor academic performance.  Within the first 4-5 weeks of the term, faculty members are asked to submit Early Warning System forms for students in academic jeopardy. Students are contacted by Student Success Center Staff (SSC) and are directed toward a variety of resources, including tutoring and life-long learning skills strategies. SSC staff members are dedicated to assisting students in becoming responsible advocates for their own success. We strive to foster collaborative relationships that enrich the learning dialogue across the College.
